R+R Midlands Award Winners

The 2006 BCABA Annual Dinner and Business Awards celebrated the sub-regions top achieveing Asian businesses and entrepreneuers at a glittering gala evening on September 1.

All the winners showcase how Asian businesses have developed over the past 40 years and have now come to represent the diversity and success of the Asian community as a whole.

Rakesh Saini BCABA business manager, says: "This year's winners reflect the outstanding achievements that have been made by Asian businesses in the Black Country."

"The chosen winners represent a complete cross section of business life. And although they are of course all run by Asian businessmen and women, they have been chosen because they are all highly successful businesses in their own right - and that is what is most rewarding about these awards."

The BCABA Awards is sponsored by Black Country Chamber and Business Link in association with Advantage West Midlands and Lloyds TSB.

Award sponsors include R2i, West Midlands Minority Ethnic Business Forum, Diversification Programme (programmes of AWM), City of Wolverhampton College, Stourbridge College and Arc of Opportunity/Future Foundations.

This year's BCABA event was hosted by Nikki Bedi, one of the flagship presenters on the BBC Asian Network.

The gala evening included a charity auction with proceeds going to two Wolverhampton based charities; the Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Support programme and the Beacon Centre for the Blind.
